Reduced cramps and lighter flow
Saturday, 23 January 2021  |

"This is an absolute life changer (overused I know but it it’s true). I started with the small as I’d never been able to use tampons but had no issue with the cup then after someone accidentally threw it out moved to large. Once you master the technique of putting it in its comfortable I’ve noticed that my previously horrible cramps and very heavy flow are a thing of the past. Easy to clean and store too."

Give it a try

"I was nervous to try this as I struggled with tampax. But honestly it was super easy to use, not at all yucky to clean and was super comfortable. I couldnt feel it at all. It comes with a stem which I cut off as it was sticking out. There's loads of different folds - just look it up on youtube. I got no leaks at all... but I still ordered some fab CSP just in case!"

1. Before starting each menstrual cycle, it is important to boil your Yuuki cup in water for 5 minutes.

2. This will destroy any bacteria that have got into the cup during storage.

3. Make sure there is enough water in the pot you are boiling the cup in. it is essential that the entire cup is submerged in water to prevent it from distorting.

1.How often should I clean my menstrual cup?

It's best to change it every 4-8 hours, if possible. However, you can wear for up to 12 hours .

2. What are the care instructions?

Reusable menstrual cups should be washed and wiped clean before being reinserted into your vagina. They can be sterilised by boiling.

4. What are the benefits of using menstrual cup?

5. Can I use a menstrual cup in a public bathroom?

Yes! Simply empty down the toilet and wipe clean with a piece of tissue. You can also rinse clean with bottled water if you happen to have it.

6. What if my cup gets lost or stuck inside me?!

This is a really common question! Your cup won't get lost up there though, as there is nowhere for it to go! If the cup manages to go higher than you can reach, just relax,  and try squatting and pushing the cup downwards with your abdominal muscles.

7. Can I use a menstrual cup even with a heavy period?

Yes! To give you an idea of how much a menstrual cup holds, A fully saturated super tampon holds around 12ml of liquid. This cup holds 28ml!

8. I suffer from cramps, won't this make them worse?

Actually, lots of people report a decrease in cramps using a cup. We aren't quite sure why!

9. Won't this make me smell?

No! Where menstrual blood develops an odour it's due to exposure to the air, and this doesn't happen using a menstrual cup. Just be sure to empty and rinse the cup at least every 12 hours.

10. Menstrual cups look bigger than tampons, won't wearing one be uncomfortable?

When folded for insertion, a menstrual cup isn't much bigger than a tampon. Once opened up inside, you still shouldn't feel it at all when inserted properly.

11. Can virgins use a menstrual cup?

Yes! Sexual activity has no bearing on your ability to use a menstrual cup. The most important thing is that you are comfortable with your own body. You might want to opt for a small size or Teen menstrual cup
